celebrations. The conference will be open to everybody involved
in the facilities management environment, with special attention
to the specialised field of higher education in Southern Africa

THE WEATHER:
October is spring time in Pretoria and the streets are lined
with purple Jacaranda trees. The days are usually sunny and mild
to warm - 20°C to 32°C (68°F - 90°F). The evening may be
somewhat cooler.
Badge
identification:
Each person who registers for HEFMA 2008 must wear an official
badge to enter sessions, meals and social functions. You must be
registered and paid in full before receiving your badge.
Registration information
The registration desk is located in the foyer of the Conference
Centre.
Dress code
All sessions: Smart casual. Please wear official conference
shirt and tie for the photo session on Wednesday 15 Oct. Shirts
and ties will be in the conference packs.
Evening functions on 13, 14 and 15 October: Smart Casual
Gala dinner on Thursday: Semi-formal
WHAT
IS HEFMA?
HEFMA (Higher Education Facility Management Association of
Southern Africa) is an international association with members
from institutions of higher learning across Southern Africa.
HEFMA also has strategic partnerships with TEFMA (the Australian
Tertiary Education Facilities Management Association), AUDE (the
British Association of University Directors of Estates) and APPA
(the American Association of Higher Education Facilities
Officers).
The
mission of HEFMA is:

To develop and maintain high quality standards in the management,
maintenance, operation, planning, utilization and development of
the physical infrastructure of higher education institution
campuses.

To promote
professional ideals and standards that would assure the best
academic environment; and to engage in such other related
activities as may be desirable or required to fulfil the
objectives of the organization.

To provide
the best professional service to Higher Education through
constant education, information and resource creation.
